The Crying Game
March 19, 2014

The original Forever Young cover had the waterfall flowing over the face of the male silhouette rather than the top of his head/neck as is the final design. While I was attracted to the notion of the water representing tears and sadness Frank experiences during his arduous journey, from an aesthetic stand point having water flow directly over the face made the cover too ‘busy’. As an artist, we are always making creative choices, trying to balance what is ‘real’ with what works on screen, in print, etc.
